This year’s theme, “Your Winning Team: Medicine and Complementary Therapies for Living Well with Parkinson’s,” will guide a year-long series of impactful events and workshops. “Music Movement Medicine II”
Last years MMM Women’s event was such a success that we are back for an encore!
A program empowering women with Parkinson’s and women care partners through music dance/movement, and community connection, featuring four exceptional presenters. The Master of Ceremonies, Dr. Rebecca Gilbert, Chief Mission Officer, APDA; Dr. Raminder Parihar, Director of Neuromodulation Assistant Professor, Saul R. Korey Department of Neurology Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Neurologic Associates of Montefiore Hospital; Cecilia Fontanesi, PhD and Dance Therapist; Makaria Psiliteli, MT-BC, Creative Arts and Music Therapist.
Dr. Rebecca Gilbert will provide valuable insights into managing Parkinson’s disease through music and dance, and each presenter will share exercises to “dance and sing away PD.” Our goal is to create a supportive and enriching environment where women can experience, connect, enjoy therapeutic activities, and learn about the interplay between Neuroscience and the Arts. By breaking isolation, creating bonds, and inspiring new habits to enhance well-being, both for those with PD and their care partners, we can improve lives.
