This year’s theme, “Your Winning Team: Medicine and Complementary Therapies for Living Well with Parkinson’s,” will guide a year-long series of impactful events and workshops. Each program is carefully designed to inform, inspire, and build connections between patients, care partners, and the healthcare community.
“Music That Moves You…Music is Medicine”
An interactive symposium blending lectures with Dr. Alessandro DiRocco, Director of Movement Disorders, Northwell Health; Dr. Rebecca Gilbert, Chief Mission Officer, APDA; Dr. Steven Frucht, NYU Langone, Director, Division of Parkinson's and Movement Disorders; with live performances by musicians and sound healers. Learning to listen to music is healing. Tune up with sound vibrations. Music helps to focus the mind, lift your spirits, and rhythm can even help to control motor symptoms. Experience the benefits of music and understand the healing effects it can have on Parkinson’s. We will be joined by music therapist Dr. Concetta Tomaino and Sound healer, John Beaulieu, and a wearable technology experience with Not Impossible Labs.
