“Finding Meaning and Purpose After PD Diagnosis”
A symposium led by Hiral Shah, MD, Assistant Professor of Neurology Medical Director, Parkinson Foundation Center of Excellence, The Neurological Institute of New York, Columbia University Medical Center New York-Presbyterian, Medical Group Westchester, will include panelists Dr. Phil Schneider, Bette Willins, Allan Kolstein, David Hirsch, Pam Quinn who are living with PD and are following their dreams. We will feature inspirational stories from individuals who have found meaning and purpose through creativity and passion after PD diagnosis.
As Victor Frankl said, “Life is never made unbearable by circumstances, but only by lack of meaning and purpose.” Life is improved immeasurably once meaning is found. Nurse and Health Coach Elissa Menasse will join us in leading an interactive journaling workshop on the theme of finding your own gift to live a meaningful life after PD diagnosis. An Art Show curated by Sharon Klass, of Piermont Fine Arts Gallery, comprising local artists, Care Partners, and People with Parkinson’s will be on view in the Gallery.
