Michael Rezak, MD, PhD, Director of the Movement Disorders Program at Health Quest, received his medical degree from Loyola Stritch School of Medicine, having already earned a master’s in psychology and a doctorate in brain anatomy from the University of Illinois Medical Center. He then completed a fellowship in visual system neurophysiology at the University of Illinois Medical Center.
A physician, researcher and teacher, Dr. Rezak was a Distinguished Physician Endowed Chair of the Parkinson’s Disease Research Society, Northwestern Medicine West Region, before joining Health Quest. He served for many years as Section Chief of Neurosciences at Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, Illinois. He has also held assistant professorships in neurology at Northwestern University and Yale University.
Dr. Rezak’s broad research interests include medical and surgical treatments for Parkinson’s disease, symptom management and quality of life for Parkinson’s patients, deep brain stimulation applications and techniques, and bioethics.
Dr. Robert Fekete is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Johns Hopkins University. He received his medical degree from NYU School of Medicine in 2005. After residency training at North Shore - LIJ Health System, he completed a two year Movement Disorders fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine. In addition to his peer-reviewed publications in neurology, Dr. Fekete is a contributor to Medlink. Dr. Fekete works in Hawthorne, NY and specializes in Neurology and Psychiatry. Dr. Fekete is affiliated with Westchester Medical Center.
Phil Schneider is the founding partner of Schneider Speech Pathology. Recognized as a master clinician and teacher, he has been practicing and teaching for over 40 years. He holds the title of Professor Emeritus of Communication Disorders at Queens College, CUNY.
Philip Hamilton, Musician, Sing for PD teacher, is a Bessie award-winning vocalist/composer with over 25 years of experience as a teacher, touring musician and producer. Called “contemporary and cutting edge” by the New York Times, Hamilton is the creator of VOICES, the hit acapella world music show that features vocalists and vocals styles from around the world. He has performed and recorded with a wide array of artists, including John Cage, the Pat Metheny Group, Spyro Gyra, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and Ballet Hispanico.
He has extensive experience leading workshops for many of the world’s leading institutions, including Lincoln Center, New York University, the Danish National School of Performing Arts and Barnard College/Columbia University. Hamilton has also conducted workshops at the JuJaab Festival in Estonia, Kaunas Jazz in Lithuania, The Kitchen in NYC, the Vermont Acappella Festival and Philadelphia’s legendary High School for the Creative & Performing Arts among others.
Dr. Elizabeth Kera practices neuropsychology in the Department of Neurology and Neuroscience Institute of Hackensack University Medical Center. She is board-certified in Clinical Neuropsychology through the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP). Dr. Kera obtained her BA in Psychology as an Honors Scholar at New York University in 2000. In 2006, she completed her PhD in neuropsychology at the Graduate School and University Center of the City University of New York. She completed her internship in neuropsychology at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, and a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology at Children’s Specialized Hospital of New Jersey. Dr. Kera has co-authored numerous publications and presented on a variety of topics in neuropsychology and is active in several neuropsychological organizations.
She specializes in the neuropsychological assessment of both pediatric and adult populations, focusing on conditions such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, concussion, traumatic brain injury, epilepsy, and stroke. Combining her extensive expertise in neuropsychology, neuroscience, and developmental psychology, Dr. Kera partners with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to provide a comprehensive assessment of cognitive functioning, and to develop appropriate treatment and rehabilitation recommendations.
